Procedure Q & A
Q. How do I commission a portrait?
A. Contact me by email or phone and we can discuss your requirements. You can visit me and I can show you some examples of my work. Then you can decide if you would like to proceed.
Q. I want a portrait of my child. How do I go about it?
A. I always work from photos when drawing or painting children.
Q. Which photo?
A. I take my own photos. Once I have the prints I will discuss with the client which one is the most suitable to work from.
Q. I want a portrait of an adult. How do I go about it?
A. If possible I like to work from life, which requires the sitter to sit for 2 - 3 hours for a period of approximately three weeks. If this is not possible I will work from photos.
Q. How long will it take.
A. I will endeavour to have the portrait done in a few weeks.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. Contact me for prices.
Q. Will the picture be framed?
A. The pictures will come to you unframed but I can arrange for them to be framed or put you in contact with a framer.
